Could home cooking help fight the obesity crisis? New research found that even people who aren't trying to lose weight eat better once they cook in your own 

home.

New Year's Day is just ahead and we'll ready off on the path to hell; you know, the main one paved with higher intentions.

We'll set goals and honestly think that we'll lose weight, visit the gym, increase our sales, customize the job, spend more time with the children or anything else.

How do you know? Because studies show so good intentions take into account only 20% to 30% of variance in behavior. One recent study even demonstrated that the more positive we are about our good intentions, the more severe results we'll get.

So, the very best predictor of what you'll do in 2015 isn't what you say you'll do on January 1.

It's what you actually did in 2014.

But's it isn't hopeless

I'd be considered a hardened pessimist otherwise to begin with - there is a quick fix that may bridge the space between goal intentions and goal accomplishment.

It's what behavioral psychologists call "implementation intentions." Ugly phrase, I understand. But it could be the difference between achieving your goals in 2015 and failing miserably.

Tons of research exists on "implementation intentions." In one landmark study, researchers pooled subjects who meant to start exercising and assigned these to three groups. The Control Group got no input from the researchers. The Experiment Group 1 received educational materials correlating exercise and good cardio-vascular health. And the Experiment Group 2 stated its "implementation intentions"

Ninety-one percent from the participants in Experiment Group 2 - those who wrote down their "implementation intentions" - exercised. Only 29% from the control group and 39% of those that browse the health literature exercised.

The outcomes seem implausible. How could writing down what you plan to do make this type of big difference?

It's no surprise to Peter M. Gollwitzer, a psychologist at New York University who's been studying goal achievement since about 1980. His research has revealed the curious power implementation intentions, which are anchored by "if-then" statements like the one that's implied in the make up the Experiment 2 participants filled out - "If Tuesday at 8 a.m. arrives, i quickly will go to a health club." "When you have a goal intention - 'I want to achieve an outcome' - the 'I' is in the middle from it," he explained. "It's a top-down regulating action. It's me who regulates where I want to go. The if-then plan delegates the control for an external stimulus. It links the situation to the response, so it's the stimulus, not you, that controls the action. It's a switch from top-down to bottom-up."

This is the magic of recording if-then statements - they automate the response. They effectively trick our minds. You do that which you said you had been going to do unconsciously, just like a routine.

The irony is that to obtain this unconscious action to take place, you need to go ahead and take very conscious step of determining the specific situations where you want to trigger an answer, then writing down your plan. "The forming of the plan is conscious," Gollwitzer explains. "The execution is unconscious."

I put implementation intentions towards the test recently. I wrote recorded on a Sunday night that Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the coming week I'd visit the gym or more my Twenty minutes on the treadmill to 30 minutes. On Monday I achieved transpire. On Wednesday I woke up tired and really didn't seem like exercising. However i visited the gym. After Fifteen minutes around the treadmill I began telling myself I wasn't will make it.

Most managers depend on the well-known S.M.A.R.T. model - creating goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. That model is better than only, observes Gollwitzer, "the distance between setting goals and goal attainment is often long."

To bridge that gap, Gollwitzer shows that Slim Forte Doubule Power managers can get their associates to draft if-then statements that map desired actions to trigger events. And then draft a second set of if-then statements describing what they'll do once they encounter inevitable obstacles.

To those New Year's resolutions. In the next month we'll do the easy work of goal setting techniques for 2015. Just like we always have. But maybe this time we'll trick our brains with if-then statements. For many crazy reason the grey matter between our ears responds to those statements automatically, without conscious intent. And - surprise - we do what we said i was likely to do.

Merely recommending a calorie-counting app to overweight people and providing them access to it on their own phones doesn't result in Fruta Planta Reduce Weight weight loss, according to a new study.

"Apps like this can be a powerful tool for those who are ready to track calories, but it's not for everyone to lose weight."

He and the colleagues wanted to know whether introducing the most popular MyFitnessPal app to overweight adults at two primary care centers in Los Angeles would result in weight loss over 6 months. The participants all said they were interested in losing weight.

MyFitnessPal is one of the most positively reviewed apps within the Apple and Android app stores, they write in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The disposable app has more than 50 million users. Along with allowing users to trace calories and workout, the app allows people to set goals, integrate data using their company devices and receive feedback from a social networking.

Of the 212 individuals the study, half were advised about the app; research assistants helped download the applying on their own smartphones and checked per week later to assist with technical problems. Another half were told about the study, however they weren't told the name of the app. Instead, these were told to choose their very own activities to shed weight.

Overall, people who used the app were happy with it, but use dropped sharply following the first month, the researchers found.

Additionally, there wasn't any factor in weight or blood pressure level backward and forward groups red carpet months. More people in the app group reported increased use of a daily calorie goal, however.

"Eighty-eight percent of people who sign in for 7 days will lose weight," she said. "The more you use it, the greater weight you lose."

Merely recommending the app may not lead to weight loss if people are not motivated to track calories, "because tracking calories is a fair bit of work," Laing said.

"You have to be committed to spend five minute to trace calories per meal," he said.

Mike Lee, the founder and ceo of MyFitnessPal, Inc., said the company's own data and researching the market shows people need to become prepared to make a change.

"MyFitnessPal is not a quick fix," he said. "We're going to try everything we can that will help you lead the kitchen connoisseur, however, you have to meet us halfway."

Silliman said the app has changed since the Meizitang Strong Version study was submitted for publication more than a year ago.

"I think obviously we were hoping just introducing MyFitnessPal could be enough, but we're going to keep spending so much time at this," Lee said.

For a long time, Ny Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has maintained his innocence in the face of repeated claims that he used performance-enhancing drugs. The Herald reported that Rodriguez told DEA agents he first met with Bosch, the founder of Biogenesis of the usa, in the summer of 2010, which the meeting was arranged by Rodriguez's cousin, Yuri Sucart. At the time, Rodriguez -- who had previously admitted to having used steroids at the start of his career, using the Texas Rangers -- was considered having trouble together with his knees and looking to shed weight.
"Sucart told Rodriguez the doctor would be a smart guy and a guru," the DEA report stated, based on the Herald. "Rodriguez stated that Sucart was very aggressive and persistent about Rodriguez meeting a doctor."
Fourteen days later, the report stated, Rodriguez "decided to start taking (performance-enhancing substances) specifically from Bosch," with Sucart because the middleman between the two until Rodriguez and Sucart were built with a "falling out" in April 2012. At that time, Rodriguez started meeting with Bosch in person to get the performance-enhancing drugs, for which he paid Bosch a reported $12,000 cash per month.


In addition, the report stated, Bosch met Rodriguez to attract blood "about 10 times" between the original meeting and October 2012, including once in a bathroom at LIV nightclub in Miami.
"Bosch told Rodriguez he'd protect Rodriguez's name," the DEA report stated, based on the Herald. "When Bosch did draw Rodriguez's blood, Bosch told Rodriguez he'd send the blood to the laboratory for analysis within fictitious name."
In January 2013, the Miami New Times published a tale that claimed Biogenesis have been providing steroids to MLB stars, including Rodriguez. Next report went public, Bosch sold out Rodriguez and other stars, including Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and former University of Miami star Ryan Braun, who was later suspended 65 games by Mlb. In exchange, the league decided to foot the balance for Bosch's criminal defense.
Additionally, Rodriguez reportedly agreed to a $900,000 settlement with Sucart. Based on the Herald report, Rodriguez told DEA investigators that Sucart had originally demanded $5 million, which as a swap, Sucart "would not disclose Rodriguez's relationship with Bosch to MLB."
A three-time MVP, the 39-year-old Rodriguez Lida Daidaihua continues to have three years and $61 million left on his contract with the Yankees. In 2013, Rodriguez took part in just 44 games after undergoing hip surgery in January. He hit .244 with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 181 at-bats.

Britain's fattest woman who weighed 40st died of the cardiac arrest aged 44 after not being able to walk out of her house for six years.

Doctors warned Brenda Flanagan-Davies to 'lose weight or die' when she became bed-bound at her home in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, after eating and Pure Fat Three Days enjoying more than 6,000 calories each day.

She was unable to walk just a few steps towards the shower or even the living room without getting out of breath.
Mr Davies, who said he'd worried about his wife's health, added: 'She spent most of her time in bed, she had a telly beside her but she didn't see it. Sometimes she would have music on without the picture. 'She couldn't walk far. She'd to get assisted to get to the shower. It took a couple of us, myself and her carer.
'I felt sad for her. I didn't feel sorry on her, I felt sad for her.
'I did be worried about her health but I didn't prefer to tell her just in case it made her upset. I wanted her to get rid of the load so she was healthy.' She was offered a gastric band by doctors if she lost enough weight to prove she wanted the ?¨º12,000 operation so when she didn't the operation was provided to someone else.
Mr Davies said: 'The doctors were telling her to lose weight. But she wasn't showing them that they was losing the weight - I think she was a bit fearful of getting the operation.
'She did lose a substantial amount of weight so she must have been considering it but she didn't go through by using it.

Ninety overweight men and women were randomly assigned to one of three groups: (1) reduced calorie/high GI, (2) reduced calorie/low GI, (3) control group
with no calorie or GI restrictions. All three groups were provided potatoes, healthful recipes and instructions to eat 5-7 areas of potatoes each week. At
the end of the 12-week study period, they found that the 3 groups had lost weight and there was no factor in weight reduction between the groups.
"There is no evidence that potatoes, when prepared inside a healthful manner, contribute to putting on weight. Actually, there has been that they can
participate a diet program," said Burton-Freeman.
Interestingly, even the control group reduced their calorie intake and dropped a few pounds despite not provided with a specific calorie restriction. "The
fact that all groups, the control group, dropped a few pounds is really a curious finding and offers cause for future research," said co-investigator Dr.
Tissa Kappagoda, MD, PhD. The study answers are great news for potato lovers and any consumer who craves the satisfaction of wholesome yet 3x Slimming Power healthy meal

If you are trying to lose weight, you might want to hide the cereal.

Research that examined people's kitchens in Syracuse, N.Y., discovered that women who had a box of breakfast cereal visible anywhere in their Slim Xtreme Gold kitchen weighed 21 pounds more than people who didn't.

Those who displayed fruit, on the other hand, weighed 7 pounds less than people who didn't.

That is because we eat what we should see, not what we should don't, explains Brian Wansink in the new book, "Slim by Design: Mindless Eating Solutions for Everyday Life" (William Morrow, $26.99).

Visible cookies and chips also were associated with weight gain, but the effect was more pronounced with cereal - it's touted as healthful, therefore we underestimate the calories and eat an excessive amount of.

Wansink is really a food psychologist at Cornell University Food and Brand Lab who researches factors that affect what and just how much food we eat. It mines that research to stipulate strategies for changing and navigating our food environments - home, work, school, restaurants and supermarkets - to encourage healthful choices.

He discovered that when it comes to losing weight, willpower isn't enough; it's simpler to rearrange our surroundings to reduce temptations than to try to resist those temptations.

"A large amount of these changes are changes that make the healthier choice more convenient, more attractive or more normal to select," Wansink said. "And then other changes result in the less healthy thing less convenient, less attractive and less normal to select."

Nutrition education is essential, and thus is exercise, but "for the majority of us, this (approach) is a lot more realistic," he said.

A number of things influence how much we eat without our realizing it: the colour of our plates (serve foods on tableware of a contrasting color); what we're doing while we eat (don't watch TV or play game titles); how we shop (hit the produce section first and chew gum to blunt cravings); and just how we eat at a buffet (scan all the offerings before filling your plate, then sit together with your to the buffet line).

It isn't always clear why certain situations result in better diet. Where to eat inside a restaurant, for instance. Wansink's studies have shown that people order more healthful foods if they are sitting at a table by the window or in a well-lit area, whereas people sitting farthest in the door were more likely to skip salads and order dessert.

So does relaxing in a dark booth within the Slim Xtreme Pills back cause you to order more dessert, or do people who prefer to eat dessert gravitate to people tables? Wansink isn't sure, why not request a window seat?

"We have a saying in the lab: If you want to be slim, do what slim people do," Wansink said.
